Amongst the most significant aircraft in aviation history, the Me 262 Schwalbe (Swallow) became the first jet-powered aircraft to enter combat. The Luftwaffe began committing the remarkable Me 262A-1a to combat in mid-1944 where they  were devastating against the columns of heavy bombers making daily raids on German cities and military targets. Despite outclasing all other fighter aircraft and being well-armed with 4x 30-mm cannon and air-to-air rockets, the Me 262 was simply too late to turn the tide of war in Germany's favor. The Me 262 is to become one of S&B Model Aircraft’s most popular speed 400 electric or PSS kits.
